What you will do

Are you a cook who is at your best in the kitchen? As a cook, you are responsible for preparing and plating dishes and parts of dishes. You report to the management team. You receive instructions from the team coordinator, but you can also run the kitchen on your own. You also work with your colleagues and direct kitchen assistants where needed. You prepare (diet) meals or parts of them. In addition, you carry out cooking, portioning and cleaning tasks and identify and report malfunctions and/or defects in equipment. You work on weekends and are available during the day and in the evening. The working hours and schedule are flexible.

Result: The prepared dishes and meals are of good quality and varied. The meals and dishes meet the required dietary requirements. The catering is as agreed and to the satisfaction of the customer. A contribution has been made to the menu cycle.

What you bring

Knowledge at the level of a vocational training as a Cook (MBO level 3) is required, supplemented by several years of work experience and knowledge of preparing diet meals. Knowledge of HACCP, with a certificate. Computer skills are needed for reporting malfunctions digitally, placing orders and recording quality checks.

Independence is required when carrying out the work according to guidelines. Initiative is required when dividing the work of the kitchen staff in the absence of the nutrition team leader.

Social skills such as tact and helpfulness are required when working in a team, dividing the work and in contact with patients/clients, employees and guests.

What we offer you

In the position of Cook C, you receive a salary within Job Group 35, ranging from $2,416.00 to $3,273.00 gross per month for a 40-hour work week. In addition to your salary, you receive additional benefits, such as a pension plan, a 13th month, vacation allowance and 25 vacation days per year based on full-time employment.
If you come from outside Bonaire, we offer you a relocation package. This includes a contribution to moving costs, tickets for you and your family if applicable, and housing for the first two months. In addition, FM offers a free Papiamentu course so you can quickly become familiar with the local language, and you are eligible for an annual Vitality Budget.
