HR Advisor (generalist)

Bonaire

Full-time

Mental Health Caribbean is looking for a colleague in the position of:

HR Advisor (generalist)

‍Location Bonaire | 32 to 40 hours per week
Salary FWG 50: USD 3,419.00 to USD 4,823.00 gross per month based on a full-time work week‍

Are you an experienced HR generalist who enjoys both advising and hands-on work?

‍At MHC you will have a broad HR role in which no two days are the same. You are a sparring partner for managers, guide complex HR matters and are just as happy to roll up your sleeves yourself. From an absence or dismissal case to an employment contract, a policy change or a change in AFAS, you take it on.

You will join a small, committed HR department where collaboration comes naturally. That is why we are looking for someone who works independently, takes initiative and is not afraid to take responsibility, but who also enjoys sharing knowledge and helping colleagues grow. You are a strong discussion partner for managers and enjoy guiding HR colleagues in their further development.

Mental Health Caribbean is a comprehensive mental health organization where employees work with creativity, commitment and perseverance. We are a growing organization with ambition: from specialized mental healthcare to forensic care. You will have room to deepen your expertise and collaborate, and with your advice and support you make sure your colleagues can truly make a difference in the lives of our clients.

What will you do?

As HR Advisor, you are an important HR sparring partner for management. You are involved in all aspects of HR, combine operational work with advisory work and work closely with managers, colleagues in the HR department and the Finance department.

Your tasks include:

  • Advising and guiding managers on a wide range of HR matters.
  • Independently handling complex cases, such as sickness absence, incapacity for work, performance, workplace conflicts, disciplinary procedures and termination of employment.
  • Answering and researching CLA questions and advising managers and employees on the application of the CLA.
  • Drafting employment contracts, correspondence and other HR documentation.
  • Processing personnel changes and ensuring accurate HR records in AFAS.
  • Supporting the payroll administration and acting as the point of contact for payroll related questions.
  • Monitoring, evaluating and annually updating HR policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Identifying developments in laws and regulations and translating them into practical policy.
  • Analyzing HR data, such as absence, intake, internal mobility and turnover, and turning it into concrete improvement actions.
  • Initiating and implementing improvements in HR processes.
  • Actively contributing to projects that support the further professionalization of the organization

In this position, you are willing to handle HR from A to Z. No task is too big or too small. It is exactly that variety that gives you energy.

What do you bring?

You are a connecting and practical HR professional with an eye for both people and processes. You feel comfortable in a dynamic organization where things move quickly and where you are given a lot of responsibility. You have a positive attitude, think in solutions and are not afraid to take initiative. In an environment where cultures come together and situations can change, you remain calm, careful and focused.

In addition, you have:

  • A completed bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a broad HR role in which you have worked in both an advisory and an executive capacity.
  • Experience with complex HR cases, including sickness absence, incapacity for work, performance, workplace conflicts and dismissal procedures.
  • Experience with or a strong affinity for payroll and salary processes.
  • Good knowledge of employment law, HR processes and the application of laws and regulations.
  • Experience with AFAS HRM or the ability to master this system quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and organizational awareness.
  • A coaching attitude and the willingness to guide HR colleagues in their development.
  • A proactive, decisive and independent work attitude.
  • A positive attitude, a sense of collaboration and the flexibility that suits a small HR department.

You have an excellent command of Dutch, both spoken and written. Knowledge of Papiamentu is an advantage. If you do not yet speak this language, you are willing to learn it through a language course we offer.

What do we offer?
  • Salary scale FWG 50 in accordance with the BES Healthcare CLA, depending on your education and experience between USD 3,314.00 and USD 4,675.00 per month based on a full-time work week. You will receive a one-year contract with the prospect of permanent employment.
  • Growth and learning: room for development through study facilities, peer supervision and a Vitality Budget of USD 850.00 per year.
  • Additional benefits: 25 days of leave (full-time), automatic step increase after one year, vacation allowance (8.33% in June) and year-end bonus (8.33% in December).
  • Good pension plan: pension accrual through PCN, with MHC paying 2/3 of the premium and 1/3 deducted from your salary.
