Are you ready for a challenging role in our Operating Room? We are looking for a Sedation Practice Specialist!

What you will do

As a Sedation Practice Specialist (SPS), you have specialized expertise in Procedural Sedation and Analgesia (PSA). You work with a high degree of independence and professionalism, while the anesthesiologist retains final medical responsibility.

You carefully prepare anesthesia equipment, continuously monitor vital functions and act appropriately in acute situations. You independently hold preoperative consultations, determine the ASA classification (1, 2 and 3) and draw up the PSA plan, consulting the anesthesiologist where needed.

In addition, you expertly administer sedation, both in the operating room and elsewhere. This includes inserting IV lines, tubes and catheters and providing adequate oxygen administration. You act in crisis situations, including as a member of the resuscitation team.

You also actively contribute to quality improvement, protocol development and professional development. You do this, among other things, by providing training and supervising students and interns.

What you bring

You have a bachelor's degree as an anesthesia assistant, supplemented by post-bachelor's training as a Sedation Practice Specialist. In addition, you have at least two years of relevant work experience in anesthesia.

You work carefully according to protocols, can act independently in acute situations and have strong social skills such as tact, empathy and resilience under pressure. You work systematically, hygienically and with integrity regarding patient data and have a keen eye for detail when monitoring vital functions.

You also hold valid BLS and ALS certification.

What we offer you

In the position of Sedation Practice Specialist, you receive a salary within Job Group 55, ranging from $3,795 to $5,550 gross per month for a 40-hour work week. In addition to your salary, you receive additional benefits, such as a pension plan, a 13th month, vacation allowance and 25 vacation days per year based on full-time employment.

If you come from outside Bonaire, we offer you a relocation package. This includes a contribution to moving costs, tickets for you and your family if applicable, and housing for the first two months. In addition, FM offers a Papiamentu course so you can quickly become familiar with the local language, and you are eligible for an annual Vitality Budget.

• A Certificate of Conduct (VOG);
