Mental Health Practice Nurses, Children and Youth

Bonaire

Part-time

Would you like to contribute to accessible care for children, young people and their families on Bonaire? For several general practices, we are looking for mental health practice nurses for children and youth who support the general practitioner with mental health, psychosocial, social-emotional and parenting questions.

As a mental health practice nurse (POH GGZ) for children and youth, you provide short-term support to children, young people and their parents or caregivers. You carefully map out requests for help, support triage and diagnostic clarification and, where needed, make targeted referrals to suitable youth care, basic mental healthcare, specialized mental healthcare or other partner organizations.

You work in a family-oriented way, with an eye for the living environment, language and background of children, young people and families on Bonaire. You work closely with general practitioners, fellow practice nurses, MHC, youth healthcare, schools, social work and other organizations involved on the island.

We offer

  • An interesting, independent and responsible position in primary care on Bonaire;
  • A position in which you make a direct difference for children, young people and families;
  • A workplace in several general practices, with plenty of room for collaboration and development;
  • A position that is in full development within a young and growing organization;
  • Good local employment conditions based on the PCC CLA;
  • Opportunities for training, professional development and further growth.

We ask

  • A relevant bachelor's or master's degree, for example Social Work, psychology, educational sciences, mental health nursing or equivalent;
  • Preferably a POH GGZ training or POH GGZ Youth profile, or the willingness to complete it;
  • At least 3 years of work experience with children, young people and families;
  • Knowledge of mental health, psychosocial, parenting and family problems;
  • An independent, proactive and connecting work attitude, with a feel for the Bonairean context.
  • Good communication skills and collaboration with general practitioners, fellow healthcare providers and partner organizations;
  • You speak Papiamentu and Dutch; Spanish and English are a strong advantage.
