What you will do

As an Anesthesia Assistant, you prepare anesthesia by getting operating rooms ready, testing equipment and carefully checking patient data. During the procedure, you closely monitor vital functions, manage medication, hand over instruments and act quickly in acute situations. In addition, you carry out administrative tasks and contribute to improving work processes. You manage stock, carry out preoperative screenings (intakes), assist in the delivery room with epidurals and wherever in the hospital the anesthesiologist needs your assistance.

The department has two inpatient operating rooms and one outpatient operating room, where a wide range of surgeries is performed. You will work in a challenging environment where no two days are the same, so it is important that you are well informed about the logistics within the hospital.

What you bring

• A bachelor's level diploma as an anesthesia assistant and knowledge of aseptic methods, the equipment used and relevant guidelines, protocols and legislation are required, supplemented by a resuscitation course;
• Oral and written proficiency in Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiamentu is desirable;
• You have a good dose of enthusiasm, are motivated, communicate well and have perseverance.

What we offer you

In the position of Anesthesia Assistant, you receive a salary within Job Group 50, ranging from $3,314.00 to $4,675.00 gross per month for a 40-hour work week. In addition to your salary, you receive additional benefits, such as a pension plan, a 13th month, vacation allowance and 25 vacation days per year based on full-time employment.

If you come from outside Bonaire, we offer you a relocation package. This includes a contribution to moving costs, tickets for you and your family if applicable, and housing for the first two months. In addition, FM offers a Papiamentu course so you can quickly become familiar with the local language, and you are eligible for an annual Vitality Budget.

• A Certificate of Conduct (VOG);
• A medical examination for admission to the pension fund;
• Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination and titer test;
• MRSA culture (if you have worked abroad).
