Ambulance Nurse

What you will do

The Emergency Department (ED) of Fundashon Mariadal  has five beds for both shock room and resuscitation patients. The department also has a cast room, a triage room, two ambulances and two isolation rooms. The team, consisting of a team leader, emergency department physicians,  nurses and ambulance drivers, is ready to provide all care within their reach. The ED provides care to about 20 patients per day on average, ranging from outpatients to Level 1 trauma patients. Both in the ED and on the ambulances, we work according to the Dutch protocols and LPA 9. However, our care also has its limits. Where necessary, we transfer patients to another hospital by air ambulance as soon as possible. Your tasks include:

• Observing, identifying and reporting the overall condition of the patient;
• Organizing and coordinating the work around the patient;
• Performing all other executive tasks that arise.

What you bring

• You have completed training as an Ambulance Nurse or SOSA Nurse;
• You combine broad knowledge and experience with a flexible work attitude;
• You are open to the Caribbean culture on a small island;
• You are available for a period of at least 6 months;
• You also behave professionally toward your clients/patients in your free time.

What we offer you

In the position of Ambulance Nurse, you receive a salary within Job Group 50 or 55, depending on your education and experience, ranging from $3,419 to $5,550 gross per month for a 40-hour work week. In addition to your salary, you receive additional benefits, such as a pension plan, a 13th month, vacation allowance and 25 vacation days per year based on full-time employment.  

If you come from outside Bonaire, we offer you a relocation package. This includes a contribution to moving costs, tickets for you and your family if applicable, and housing for the first two months. In addition, FM offers a free Papiamentu course so you can quickly become familiar with the local language, and you are eligible for an annual Vitality Budget.

We also ask of you

• A Certificate of Conduct (VOG);
• A medical examination for admission to the pension fund;
• Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination and titer test;
• MRSA culture (if you have worked abroad).
